I am getting the error: "550 relaying mail to account@externaldomain.com is not allowed, server IP configured to allow local mail only." when sending email to external domains with MailMax/WEB.
Solution

I am attempting to send from: mike@localdomain.com to an external email account
(
smartmax@hotmail.com) from MailMax/WEB.

Here is the error that I am receiving:
SMTPMax (2004.02.11 16:47:15) [31] 550 relaying mail to
smartmax@hotmail.com is not allowed, server IP configured to allow local mail only.

If I send email to local accounts, such as
johnny@localdomain.com, the email is successfully sent and received.

This error means that the IP that localdomain.com, or the IP that MailMax/WEB is bound to, is configured within the Connection Control of the System Settings to Allow Local Mail Only.
